Orthodox Rabbinic Courts
The following are rabbinic courts in Los Angeles, New York, and internationally whose gitten are recognized by the Rabbanut in Israel and throughout the diaspora. We work with Orthodox Rabbinic Courts throughout the U.S., the diaspora, and Israel.
For assistance in navigating the Rabbinic Court process for the purposes of getting/receiving a Get, contact Esther Macner, Esq.: [email protected] or 310-730-5282
Beth Din of America
- (212) 807-9042 or (212) 807-9183 / [email protected]
- The BDA will accept cases even if both parties have not consented to give the get. They will send a summons (hazmona) to a recalcitrant spouse. The rule within the shadow of state law in divorce arbitrations.
Beth Din of California
- Rabbi Shmuel Ohana - (818) 216-6769 or (818) 216-5730 / [email protected] OR [email protected]
- Does not accept applications unless both parties consent to the Get.
International Beit Din -
- (201) 357-4056 / [email protected]
- Rabbinic court dedicated exclusively to issues of divorce throughout the diaspora. Unlike most other batei dn, it specializes in resolving difficult cases of get refusal, and they accept applications even when one spouse refuses to come. At the IBD, there is no get extortion, no conditioning of the get, and no excuse for get refusal where halacha mandates it be given.
- In some circumstances, the IBD will also evaluate whether there was an error in the kiddushin, which would render the marriage null and void even without the giving of a get. Their rulings mandating the giving of a get are recognized by the Rabbanut in Israel, but a determination that the marriage is null and void without a get is not recognized by all. Even so, many Orthodox rabbis in the diaspora will officiate at a remarriage of a woman who was freed by their rulings.
- They do not charge fees for their services.

- (213) 223-7117
- Does not accept applications unless both parties consent to the Get. Does not recognize the validity of 'community property' in divorce arbitration.
